My car is my baby; I even polish her by hand! But when she blew a gasket, I wasn’t financially prepared. Luckily (or so I thought...) I have a pal who’s good with cars. He said he’d sort it out, no problem. I trusted him and didn’t have loads of cash to pay a mechanic, so I told him he could fix it and I’d give him lifts for a month. But my “good deal” turned bad almost as soon as I got my car back – it turns out my friend is no more a mechanic than the Easter bunny is! Not only did my friend not fix my car, he made a bigger mess of it than before. When he tried to replace the gasket, he started fiddling with the engine without knowing what he was doing and my poor car ended up worse than ever. Now I have to find a proper mechanic to fix the mess, which is going to cost a fortune. I’m never letting anyone except a mechanic touch my car again! It’s just not worth it. Trust me: it’s worth paying the experts!
